A machine that can help brush aside job site pressures - Vermeer continues a "total solutions" approach to product development with the introduction of a new brush chipper with a track undercarriage - the BC1400TX. Equipped with a CAT 304 undercarriage the BC1400TX track design offers lower ground pressure than towed units helping to reduce ground disturbance. The flexible track undercarriage also allows operators to steer the mid-sized chipper through areas where a tow vehicle may not be able to maneuver due to uneven terrain, confined working areas or forrestry applications.

Feature: PT Tech HPTO w/ Microprocessor and Integrated Throttle
Benefit: The throttle, integrated with clutch engagement, ensures that the PTO can only be engaged while the engine is at low idle/ low RPM. This helps prevent premature failure of the clutch due to high throttle clutch engagements. The microprocessor controls the clutch and throttle system for consistent controlled engagements which reduces the chance of operator error that could contribute to wear on the clutch. Clutch pressure is maintained by hydraulic oil pressure eliminating need for clutch adjustment. Due to the smooth engagements of the clutch by the microprocessor, the clutch comes with a 1 year or 1000 hour limited warranty; a warranty that is typically not found on a clutch system due to clutches being considered a wear item.

Feature: Bottom Feed Stop Bar
Benefit: The BC1400TX is also equipped with RESET/HOLD to RUN buttons on each side of the infeed housing to make the reset process simple and quick if the bar is tripped. This will prove to be a distinct competitive advantage for Vermeer based on the fact that competitive systems such as the "Last Chance Cords" from Bandit require that the operator react/pull/push something in order to stop the infeed mechanism. The RESET buttons can also be depressed for up to 30 seconds to over ride the bottom bar temporarily during difficult feeding conditions.

Feature: SmartFeed
Benefit: This patented feed sensing control system offers all of the same advantages as the SmartFeed system on the BC1400XL. This feed sensing control system increases productivity. Customers can choose between 3 RPM "droop" settings to make the BC1400TX fit their specific application. A simple "Rocker Switch" is used to change between the three settings.

Feature: Remote Control
Benefit: The wireless remote control offers flexibility while transporting the machine by allowing the operator to view all sides. The remote also offers full control of the infeed rollers while loading the machine with a skid steer, grapple or wheel loader. Forward/Reverse of the feed rollers, Hold to Run, and the reset of the bottom bar are functions that can all be performed from the remote.

Feature: Caterpillar 304 Undercarriage
Benefit: Offering a track undercarriage to the BC1400XL allows operators to manuever a mid-sized chipper into areas where a tow vehicle may not be able to go because of ground conditions. The track undercarriage allows operators the oppurtunity to take the chipper into areas such as forestry applications and development areas. The track design offers a lower ground bearing pressure over a trailered machine, resulting in less ground disturbance. The track drive system also adds flexibilty when manuevering in difficult job site conditions such as uneven terrain and confined working areas.
