The TG5000 is an ideal combination of innovation and power. Powered by one of two turbocharged CAT Tier 3 engine options,it features a hydraulic tub drive chain tensioner that automatically adjusts the chain while operating as well as the exclusive Vermeer duplex drum, which offers optimum cutting performance and simplified maintenance.

Add on the PT tech wet clutch with microprocessor control to automatically limit torque when necessary. Optional climate-controlled cab and grapple loader makes the TG5000 a one-man operation to help reduce labour costs and increase job site efficiency.

  • 91 Degree Tub Tilt - Tub tilt allows for changing of screens, servicing and maintenance of hammer-mill area, and helping to reduce maintenance time in the field. When tilted over 90 degrees, the tub can be rotated for easy clean out. For maintenance, the standard tub tilt interlock prevents the tub table from being lifted until the hammer-mill has stopped rotating. The dual tub lift cylinders with integral lock valves keep the tub table positioned when raised. The tub design tilts high above the material pile aiding in the cleanup process around the machine and minimising the chances of material falling onto fenders.
  • All machine and cab controls, including cab comfort and machine data displays, are mounted above the windshield. Joystick features electric-over-hydraulic controls - Full operation of the loader knuckle boom, loader swing, clam open/close and rotate are all located on the joysticks as well as tub rotation controls via push button on right joystick. Once the machine is started at ground location control panel and discharge conveyor is unfolded for operation, machine functions such as clutch engagement, conveyor raise/lower, tub rotate, tub cover open/close, throttle, engine stop and front stabiliser raise/lower are accessible from the cab. The electric-over-hydraulic controls provide the flexibility for an operator to use their preferred control configuration (Vermeer, SAE or ISO) and offers three operating modes to meet the operator’s needs.
  • Interlock switch located on cab door disables loader rotation and knuckle boom functions when door is opened - Cab door must be closed and secure before loader boom and rotation is operational providing a safe area for operator in cab from thrown and falling objects.
  • Control Panel - The control panel provides a display of the microprocessor and the CAT engine systems, providing the operator with real-time performance information. The control panel also provides full instrumentation and diagnostic ports for monitoring hydraulic systems and troubleshooting. The panel is located under the protective Falling Object Canopy, which helps protect operator from falling objects.
  • Tandem and triple axle suspension with super single wheels - The super singles provide flotation and 11" (27.9 cm) of ground clearance for better transport and movement on job sites such as land clearing where soil conditions are unstable. The clearance also provides protection of components under the machine, such as brake canisters and axle components by keeping them up and out of the way of debris that is commonly found on jobs.
  • Hammermill Box - Open mill box design mounted to the frame located at the front of the tub. Screens are supported by integral ribs for less restriction. Mill box is removable or replaceable. 9.8" (24.9 cm) of clearance behind screen provides increased material flow through screens and reduced plugging.
  • Hydraulic Tub Drive Chain Tensioner - Reduces daily maintenance to adjust manual tensioner systems for drive chain. Only increases tension on the chain when tub rotation circuit is under load. Tension is decreased if tub rotation is not under load. Less operator interface as opposed to mechanical tensioning systems that require operator to adjust tensioner periodically.
  • Optional Loader - Better visibility as cab rotates with loader knuckle boom; providing clear line of sight as knuckle boom is in straight-line view of operator. 370 degrees of rotation allows for increased work area around sides and front of machine to stage material for processing. Approximate eye level in cab is 17.5' (533 cm) from ground level to provide clear visibility of material being processed in the tub.
  • Remote Control - The remote control provides one-person operation, helping to reducing labour costs. The remote control enables the operator to control the machine from a safe distance or from the cab of a loader. It features an engine stop button that allows the user to shut the engine down quickly. The LCD screen allows operators to view various engine information and machine parameters. It also controls tub manual/auto rotation, tub speed, tub forward/reverse, engine speed, clutch, tub cover position and fan forward/reverse.
  • Series III Duplex Drum - This patented drum design decreases daily maintenance while increasing the life of major wear components by being able to reverse the hammers and tips. Independently secured wedges offer more convenient service.
  • Thrown Object Restraint System (TORS) - The patented TORS has a smooth underside for increased life and better material flow while reducing the quantity and distance of thrown objects when positioned over the tub.
  • Tub Opening - Tub is 60" (152.4 cm) deep and 146" (370.8 cm) across the top opening to allow loading of large amounts of material. Bottom of the tub flares outward from tub wall, allowing the hammermill to cut under the vertical wall of the tub, reducing bridging and allowing steady feeding of material. This highly effective placement of the mill reduces the amount of material buildup which may cause excess wear on the table and tub. The 6" (15.2 cm) cutting depth means more aggressive hammermill cuts to help provide continuous grinding and a high rate of production. Four tub wall agitators move material to help reduce bridging and increase production. Tub rotation is driven by a low-speed, high-torque hydraulic motor and positive chain drive for greater durability. Vertical tub walls and flares are 1/4" (.6 cm) thick T1 steel. The tub floor is 3/8" (1 cm) thick T1 steel. The tub flares fold in for 150" (259 cm) transport width.
  • Undermill Conveyor - The continuous flow conveyor system is designed to handle fluid material flow through transition area and less spillage. Using this single-belt design eliminates the typical transition area between the load-out belt and undermill conveyor reducing the chances of material bridging. Discharge height capability of 14' (4.3 m). The single discharge also reduces the amount of spoil underneath and at the rear transition area of the machine
