There is no substitute for down hole power. Armed with key rotational torque and speed increases over its predecessors, Vermeer introduces the D100x140 Navigator® horizontal directional drill. With a maximum rotary torque output of 14,000 ft-lb (18981.5 Nm) and rotational speeds up to 203 rpm, it offers an exceptional one-two punch in response to your most challenging projects.

  • 14,000 ft-lb of Rotational Torque
  • Incredible power for the footprint

To get you there and back, select between 15’ (4.6 m) or 20’ (6.1 m) lengths of 3.5” (8.9 cm) Firestick® drill rod. Consider the 15’ (4.6 m) to minimise your footprint, while selecting 20’ (6.1 m) will offer increased onboard rod carrying capacity.

  • 15’ (4.6 m) or 20’ (6.1 m) Firestick® drill rod options - Two rod-length options equip the D100x140 S3 to better meet contractor preference. Applications valuing footprint may look to the 15’ (4.6 m) rod option, while those looking for maximum onboard rod footage should consider the 20’ (6.1 m) rod option. Industry-renowned Firestick drill rod features one-piece forged construction for exceptional strength and superior bend radius.
  • 275 hp (205 kW) CAT engine - Along with meeting emissions certification, the D100x140 S3 engine offers the power and service reputation associated with CAT in higher horsepower applications.
  • Angled, open-top vises - Oriented to an angle facing the operator, the D100x140 S3 vises offer good operator visibility during rod makeup/breakout. The true open-top design accommodates mud motors and other large tooling. Responsive and powerful clamping and breakout actions can boost cycle time efficiency.
  • Aurora™ full-colour touchscreen display - The DigiTrak® Aurora™ full-colour touchscreen display delivers an engaging experience which can help make a driller’s day more productive.
  • Class-leading rotational torque and speed - Increased rotational torque and speed transfer more power down hole to improve drilling performance.
  • Drilling fluid management - With simple design considerations, the D100x140 S3 contributes to a cleaner job site.
  • Drilling fluid pump options/fluid course - Increased drilling fluid volume and pressure enhance drilling performance, particularly when back-reaming and in mud motor applications. The larger fluid course reduces pressure drops, helping maintain the flow that is key in mud motor applications.
  • Excavator-style cab - With considerations to cab design and visibility, the D100x140 S3 cab boosts operator comfort.
  • Front anchor plate - With the pivot motion, the front anchor plate can be adjusted to the contour of the ground to increase ground contact. As the plate can be removed with relative ease, the D100x140 S3 is flexible to varying anchor setups that may range from job to job.
  • Optional Crane - The onboard crane offers the flexibility to load additional rod boxes and assist the makeup of large tooling while reducing the need for other equipment on the job site.
  • Optional stake downs - Selecting the optional stake downs can reduce setup times and the need for additional support equipment.
  • Rack angle range - The four-bar linkage design offers a flexible range of potential entry angles which can be met with the tracks completely on the ground, increasing stability while drilling.
  • Rack-and-pinion gear - The bolt-on rack design eliminates the need to tediously cut existing welds, then reset and re-weld in the event replacement is needed. Vermeer is the only manufacturer committed to a limited lifetime warranty on rack-and-pinion gears.
  • Remote ground drive control - The remote can provide operators enhanced visibility in transport, particularly when loading/unloading a trailer.
  • Service access - Design considerations for service and maintenance, like the swing-out door and flip-up panel, offer easy access to enclosed components.
  • Stackable rod boxes - With consideration to ease of use and safety, the D100x140 S3 stackable rod box design allows additional rod to be loaded via the upper rod box. When matched with the optional onboard crane, no additional support equipment is required to load additional rod.
  • Steel tracks - Steel tracks offer increased wear life.
  • Wireline compatibility - These features are intended to enhance access and safety in wireline applications.
